I bet your portfolio does better than my portfolio of VTI, VXUS, BND and BNDX. Diversification is overrated.

u/IcyAd9024 in r/TheRaceTo10Million • 8 hours, 56 minutes ago

2.5-3M in ETF. 67% VTI, 23% VXUS, 10% BND. (See lazy portfolio). 500k-1M in HYSA so you have dry powder for future investments, cash flow, and emergency funds. I'm at about 3.7M right now using this strategy but still running a small lifestyle business so need a bit more cash. …

VT, BND, GLD

Most of us made far dumber mistakes when we started investing, many of us lost plenty of cash as a result. Chalk this up to an expensive lesson (that you didn’t actually lose any money over) and go over to /r/personalfinance and use their flow chart to check up on …

Total bond market return over last 10 years is 20.67%, or $23,357 on your investment. So this must have been conservative indeed. But BND had a return of 2% annualized, so if Merrill took 1%/year in fees, you'd be left with about half.

u/Formal-Kale2431 in r/investing • 5 days, 6 hours ago

An option would be to keep both, and buy in to VEU or something similar for a broader reach and balance. Also could always add in BND (depending on age and risk allocation.)

u/tribalbates420 in r/TheRaceTo10Million • 6 days, 4 hours ago

That said, any diverse etf or bond is a safe investment. With VOO,SPY,BND and similar. Look for a low buy_in, they are usually safe for profit but slow. If you want to make fast profits then you'll need to be very hands on. Stocks like nbis, gpus. They have a …

70-80% bonds is lower risk from variations in price but has great risk from losses from inflation over the longer term. I would recommend a more traditional split such as 60/40. 60% broad based index ETF like VTI that tracks the total US stock market. Then split the 40% allocation …

Remove SCHD, DRGO, BND. Replace by a growth fund like VUG, VGT, SPMO. At 33, it’s time to be agressive and grow your wealth.

u/mike626 in r/ValueInvesting • 1 week, 4 days ago

I'm a little concerned about an AI bubble, but I am more concerned about PE ratios of the SP500 and that brokerages like GS, Fidelity, Vanguard, and Blackrock are pointing to below-market performance of the SP500 over the next decade. I still have about 10% of my portfolio in VOO, …

u/ConcentrateOk523 in r/investing • 1 week, 4 days ago

More VTI. VTI carries the whole portfolio. Today VTI up 1 percent and VXUS and BND doing their usual nothing.

u/Aggressive-Donkey-10 in r/investing • 1 week, 4 days ago

you list 5 funds that are all just levered plays on FIAT, in the four equities they all go up with increasing inflation while the BND goes down. This is a risky play, perhaps add 20-30% IAUM like Morgan Stanley is recommending now.

u/MaxwellSmart07 in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

Keep VTI and buy IWY or QQQM. At very least dump BND and bury it 6-feet under so others can’t buy it.

u/BacktestAndChill in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

Even if you wanted or needed bond exposure, BND is not a good fund. SGOV beats it. Check out ANGL if you can handle a bit more volatility - that one provides a decent return even in low rate environments.

u/PashasMom in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

Chiming in with the "dump SCHD, DGRO, and BND" folks. These are not what a young person needs to grow their portfolio for retirement. I know you say you like the criteria used to pick the holdings in SCHD and DGRO and you want to favor those types of companies. …

u/DeeDee_Z in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

> I plan to increase the BND allocation by 5% every 5 years, to hit 35% when I am 55. Too much too soon. You don't need to hit 30% until you're at least 65 or 70.

u/Ok_Valuable1572 in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

Dump SCHD, DRGO and BND. The first two is all you need during the accumulation phase of your investing journey. When you retire add a little of BND and then your set.

u/jacobf33 in r/investing • 1 week, 5 days ago

Looking for a devil’s advocate for my strategy I (33M, in the US) started “investing” (gambling) on Robinhood in 2019 with whatever was leftover from my paychecks. As it has grown to become a meaningful amount of money, I wanted to actually use a diversified strategy to set-up for a …

Am I making a good decision? Okay so I’ve finally decided how I plan to invest and just wanted to make sure my plan is spread enough. I want to keep it simple and go for long term so I’ve decided to go with a 80/20 split brokerage along side …

u/Apost8Joe in r/investing • 1 week, 6 days ago

What if I told you that there are extended periods of time when bonds beat stocks? Just because we’ve had one hell of a Fed fueled 20 year leveraged run doesn’t mean trees grow to the sky. Only difference this time is that we had an actual diverse economy the …

Adding to VXUS and BND

u/peacemi11ion in r/investing • 2 weeks ago

VTI/VXUS/BND and chill

u/mightyblend in r/stocks • 2 weeks, 1 day ago

One of my top three earners today is BND. So.

u/SavaRo24 in r/investing • 2 weeks, 1 day ago

I do 70% VTI, 30 % BND.

u/win007 in r/TheRaceTo10Million • 2 weeks, 1 day ago

Personally I'd do VTI/ VXUS and BND and chill. If they have 8-10 years, just dump it at once

u/easymyk12 in r/investing • 2 weeks, 3 days ago

Something like: 80% VONE 16% BND 2% GLDM 2% SMH

u/plasticbug in r/investing • 2 weeks, 3 days ago

VT - indexed asset appreciation BND - some bond exposure adds stability to the portfolio SCHD - long term dividend growth

VTI, VXUS, BND

u/throwaway4whattt in r/stocks • 2 weeks, 3 days ago

As other people have mentioned, VOO comes with in built diversification. The two things it does not offer is diversification into non US equities (VEU) and diversification into non stock assets (BND, GLD, etc.). If might make sense to reduce your VOO and get diversified some more. But then again …

u/Beitasitmaybe in r/stocks • 2 weeks, 4 days ago

I also recommend VTI VXUS BND + GLD + FBTC + BRKB and if feeling conservative, SCHD

u/clingbat in r/investing • 2 weeks, 4 days ago

I dropped my bonds to 0% at 35 and I'm not picking them up again till somewhere between 50-55, but that's just me. I find most broad bond indexes (like BND) to be underperforming even some HYSAs lately so honestly what's the point? We just spread that chunk of money …

u/No-Associate-6068 in r/investing • 2 weeks, 5 days ago

41 is still young enough to stay mostly in stocks, but you might want a bit more than 2% in bonds just for stability. A lot of people your age sit somewhere in the 10–25% range, depending on risk tolerance. Something simple like BND or a target-date fund works fine. …

u/gggg500 in r/stocks • 2 weeks, 5 days ago

I’d just go: 75% SPY, 15% BND, 10% cash. If you wanted to buy some individual companies to throw into the mix: PEP - soda and snacks giant CAT or DE - farm and heavy equipment MSFT - O/S software GOOG - search engine, Ai, maps, email, YouTube, it basically …

u/Far_Lifeguard_5027 in r/investing • 3 weeks ago

They are good in a lowering interest rate environment. If you zoom out and look at BND, the yield began going up again as interest rates began to lower.
