Volume profile is usually very helpful. Though in this case it doesn’t look like it would have been. Looking at this chart the RSI would’ve been pretty indicative. BTC made a higher high but the RSI made a lower high signaling a bearish divergence. But that’s just my Monday morning …

u/ardenmd in r/Daytrading • 0 minutes ago

Look at the RSI, if there’s a bearish divergence, it’s a fake out. If no bearish divergence then it’s just a rejection and will likely test the level again There was a significant bearish divergence on the 15min chart and the 1HR chart as well

u/Venerable-Gandalf in r/Daytrading • 0 minutes ago

Bullish divergence is a good confluence for a breakout you can use MACD momentum or RSI/stochastics

Psychological number, long wicks indicating selling pressure, top forming, huge gap up directly below, declining buying volume. No way this thing was going higher. Add 9, 20, 50, 200emas, vwap and RSI to your chart, it'll tell you all you need.

Check OBV - same chart 1hr. Check RSI - same. Then watch for Lower highs. Bottom wicks -> top wicks. You can also draw trendlines, before it dropped, it did a wedge pattern as well. I find that when one timeframe is not conclusive, look at one below and one …

u/Darnaldo in r/Daytrading • 1 day, 16 hours ago

u/drslovak in r/Daytrading • 1 day, 16 hours ago

Why would you buy when RSI goes into the gutter? Lolol. That’s like selling when RSI goes over 70. You need another oscillator to go with rsi and catch it when it comes out of oversold

u/decentlyhip in r/Daytrading • 1 day, 18 hours ago

Which RSI parameters did you use? Have you tried it again with multiple RSIs and longer parameters? And maybe if trending markets break it, you need to drill down to a shorter timeframe where price action is more random.

u/Caramel125 in r/Daytrading • 1 day, 18 hours ago

RSI is good for eyeing long divergence term trends but useless IMO for day trading. I use EMA, and S&R like you but you need to find those stocks that have wide gaps between levels and aren't at or near ATH because trend reversals often happen pretty far away from …

Risk management is key. You can have an 85% win rate and blow up your account in a day by letting your emotions get the best of you. I was up over 100%, this month. 85% win rate. I thought this could be it. I was finally profitable and managing …

I think the longer you trade, the less reliant you are on using indicators outside of volume and PA. It really does give you all the information you need. That being said, I do like to have RSI on the chart. It many times helps me confirm my entry and …

RSI is big. But other than that, you really just have PA and volume with respect of horizontal S/R lines. The rest of the stuff is just to support a case or issue a small red flag, but aren’t main indicators like the above.

I started off by watching Dan McDermitt from The Chart Guys, so I try to use RSI and Volume. As well as generally checking for “higher highs” / “higher lows” / “lower highs” / “lower lows” on the chart.

XAUUSD strategy for next market open on 17th Nov 2025 BB & RSI shows downtrend momentum, plan to short at 4145 level (FibR 50%) or short once price downward breakout at 4040 level (FibR 0%), depend on where the price goes when market open. Why short at FibR 50%? - …

SPY go up. Buy puts, sell at 20% gains. SPY go down buy calls sell at 20% gains. I could probably hold things longer and make more money, pay attention to the RSI and MAs but why. 20% of 5k is a grand in profits usually in about an hour …

I do use RSI, 52 week low, relative MA, and 10/50/200 MA to help choose entry points. But I do it specifically when I've identified a beaten down stock that is set up for mean reversion. By themselves, these stats dont tell you anything that they'd be actionable in isolation.

RSI is something I use to gauge my risk that I’m buying at the top or potentially a falling knife. I’d say 75% of my trades are profitable. I really only look at headlines day to day but I think what helps most is being focused on a select number …

Who else trades using no indicators or signals??? Where are my people!? I don’t use MACD, RSI, BOLL, VWAP, etc.. the list goes on and on. Is there any other lunatic who profitably trades using solely Volume & PA? Or Volume and S&R? And potentially the order flow as well? …

I used to overcomplicate stock picking too — juggling indicators, reading 50-page reports, watching CNBC like it’s gospel. Still underperformed. Now my approach is stupid simple: 1. Find momentum → not stories. Price action > narratives. If a stock can’t hold strength, no “great fundamentals” can save it. 2. Scan …

This a secondary strategy that you can add to your "tool belt." Works roughly 70% of the time and you don't trade this all day long. Maybe once or twice a day if you find right the setup. It is about the setup and entry point. Try 15 min chart …
